When artist Sian Cann started losing her sight and seeing cobweb patterns, it might surprise you to hear she turned to photography, when she could no longer work as an environmental educator. Sian herself says it’s surprising… but then nothing about her is predictable.
Jenna had a chat with Sian last week at Sian's first experimental, cameraless photography exhibition, which highlights the poetry in water and much more besides.

‘Ripples Run Deep’ is an extraordinary body of work from an artist who is pushing boundaries and inspiring so many people along the way. It’s on at ACE Arts in Somerton, until November 9th (2024).
Whether you’ve seen it already, are planning to go, or are interested in Sian and what she's creating, have a listen to the conversation here, on Be Somerset Radio.
It’s an inspiring chat about the work, Sian’s circumstances, and how things don’t necessarily turn out the way you might imagine.
