Places, people, adventures...

If you're looking for the coolest stuff in Somerset, you've found it!
Whether it's places to visit for a special day out, gorgeous pubs and restaurants to while away your Sunday in, or talented people making brilliant local crafts and produce, we'll share the unique stories of Somerset -
the very best this beautiful county has to offer.

There might also be the odd blog about attempting to learn to garden and grow organic veg!
Plot spoiler... we're not what you'd call naturals! :)

Somerset cool is two years old (woo hoo!) and we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who's been a part of the adventure so far. We love sharing the out of the ordinary things happening in this stunning part of the world, and up to now, 2018's been brilliant!

       The Latest...

April in numbers...

  1. 8 the deadline to enter your photos into our exhibition. To celebrate Somerset Day on May 11th, we’re curating ‘Picture Somerset’ with artist Donna Vale at her gallery For Every Cloud in Langport. This photography exhibition will showcase your brilliant shots of Somerset, to build up an exciting picture of the personality of the county we all love - & it’ll run until June 8th. Get your pics to us before we make the final cut!
  2. 28
On the 28th we’ll be channelling our inner Nicholas Angel, buying a Cornetto from the local shop & heading to the fictional village of Sandford on a Hot Fuzz Walking Tour of Wells. Yarp! We might have a cranberry juice in The Crown before we set off & we can’t wait to follow in the footsteps of Frank Butterman… for the greater good Sergeant!! ;)
  3. 21
April 21st is National Tea Day & to celebrate, we’ll be chatting to the awesome guys at The Lion Rock Tea Rooms & Garden in the heart of Cheddar. We’re looking forward to discovering more about their award-winning, dog friendly haven of all things loose tea… & there might be a homemade cream tea with our name on it! A perfect way to mark the occasion :) 
  4. 2
Like drinking? Like drawing? How about both together? :) Well, this April, we’re heading along to 'Drink and Draw', an event in Frome on the second Saturday of every month that gives us grown ups somewhere to meet, have a wine/beer/gin & doodle until our heart’s content! We’ll be interviewing organiser Tamsyn Gill for our first 'Somerset cool Live' radio show too! Woo Hoo! 
