Places, people, adventures...

If you're looking for the coolest stuff in Somerset, you've found it!

Whether it's places to visit for a special day out, gorgeous pubs and restaurants to while away your Sunday in, or talented people making brilliant local crafts and produce, we'll share the unique stories of Somerset -

There might also be the odd blog about attempting to learn to garden and grow organic veg!
Plot spoiler... we're not what you'd call naturals! :)

Somerset cool will be two years old in January (woo hoo!) and we'd like to thank everyone who's been a part of the adventure so far. It's been brilliant sharing the out of the ordinary things happening in this stunning part of the world, throughout 2017. Bring on 2018!

November in numbers...

  1. 1856
On our mission to find the perfect dog-friendly Somerset pubs, we take a trip to The Duck at Burtle. Established in 1856 and steeped in history, this hidden gem on the Levels is always at the top of the awards list. We check it out this month to discover more about the food, wine and stunning surroundings there. Woo hoo!

On the 10th, we get wrapped up warm and head out for a wildlife watching experience by the light of the magical moon! Created and run by Wildlife Somerset, we can’t wait to hunker down in the hide, learn more about the county's wildlife and see what animals we can spot on the night. Gives us good goosebumps just thinking about it!
  3. 3
Three things - a shed, a jeweller’s bench and a tendency to get distracted by shiny objects – that’s all Gemma Atwell needed to start up Silver Shed and make her beautiful jewellery, inspired by fairytales and folklore. We chat to her about her awesome pieces, find out what makes her tick and generally drool over her gorgeous designs! ;)
  4. 2
Two Shepherd’s Huts, one overnight stay! We head over to Tor View Shepherds Huts to check out their newest arrival - the hut they call Ted! We’ve got to say, he looks as cool as! Off-grid, offline and off the beaten track, we might just stay there forever. Find out how we get on on the blog… if we decide to return that is ;).
