Places, people, adventures...

If you're looking for the coolest stuff in Somerset, you've found it!
Whether it's places to visit for a special day out, gorgeous pubs and restaurants to while away your Sunday in, or talented people making brilliant local crafts and produce, we'll share the unique stories of Somerset -
the very best this beautiful county has to offer.

There might also be the odd blog about attempting to learn to garden and grow organic veg!
Plot spoiler... we're not what you'd call naturals! :)

Somerset cool turned one year old in January (woo hoo!) and we'd like to thank everyone who's been a part of the adventure so far. We can't wait to share the out of the ordinary things happening in this stunning part of the world, throughout 2017.

September in numbers...

On the 1st, we’ll have been married for 6 whole years, so we’re taking ourselves to The Ethicurean to celebrate. It’s tucked away in a Victorian walled garden & we’ve wanted to go to this cool restaurant for a while now, so we can't wait to raise a glass of fizzy booze, take in the views of the Mendips & get stuck in to some of their gorgeous food. YEAH!
  2. 30
This is the date that Somerset Mosaic artist Kate Rattray’s exhibition at Glastonbury Abbey begins - alongside fellow artists Alicia Merrett & Hiro Takahashi. We visit Kate in her studio, grab a sneak preview of the beautiful pieces she’s working on and make sure we’re there on 30th to see ‘Traces Revealed’ in all its glory.
  3. 21
We’re going to stay at Happy on the Hill & we couldn’t be happier about it! For 21 years owners Susan & Neil have lived in a magical location on a hillside near Bruton & their beautiful wagon ‘Gabriel’ is definitely a unique place to stay. We can’t wait to check it out & write about how we get on. Bet we discover a little slice of Somerset heaven!

Our final festival of the season is a garden & harvest one! ;), On the weekend of 16th & 17th, we’re heading to Toby Buckland’s GardenFest at Forde Abbey to check out some of the talks, garden demos, plants & food. There’s tons of family activities too, so we’re taking my parents along - not sure the blog is ready for this!! :)
